Chanting Material

The Four Noble Truths, Noble Eightfold Path, and Four Foundations of Mindfulness are three of the most important teachings in Buddhism, and together they form the core of Buddhist practice.

The Four Noble Truths are the foundation of Buddhist philosophy and teach that suffering exists, that suffering arises from craving and attachment, that it is possible to end suffering, and that the Noble Eightfold Path is the way to end suffering.

The Noble Eightfold Path is a set of guidelines for living a meaningful and fulfilling life that involves developing Right Understanding, Right Intention, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, and Right Concentration. Practicing the Noble Eightfold Path can help us cultivate a sense of inner peace and wisdom, and can help us to overcome the causes of suffering.

The Four Foundations of Mindfulness are a set of practices that are used to develop Right Mindfulness. It involves paying attention to the present moment with clear awareness, and observing our experiences without judgment. Through this practice, we can cultivate greater insight into the nature of reality, develop greater compassion and empathy, and learn to live more fully in the present moment.

Together, these teachings form a comprehensive framework for Buddhist spiritual practice that can help us lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life. By learning and applying these teachings in our daily lives, we can cultivate greater wisdom, compassion, and mindfulness, and find greater peace and happiness in the midst of the challenges of life.

As such, if kids are able to learn these 3 Buddhist teachings from young, they will be able to develop important life skills that can lead to very fulfilling lives.

Hence, the material used for chanting will be from the ‘Great Discourse on Mindfulness Meditation (Mahā Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta)‘ as it explains in detail the 3 most important Buddhist teachings described above.

Parents are strongly encouraged to join the chanting class with their kid(s).
